Choosing the best IPTV Switzerland service is harder than in most countries, because Swiss TV runs in four languages, the SRG splits into SRF, RTS and RSI, every household already pays a CHF 335 media fee, and Swiss football is shared between blue Sport and the SRG. Below we set out what Swiss households already get through licensed apps, where IPTV adds something, and how three IPTV services compare for viewers who want German, French, Italian and international channels in a single guide.
Quick answer: For one guide that combines German, French and Italian channels with big diaspora groups, KenoaTV comes first in this comparison. It lists 277 Germany, 206 France and 191 Italy channels in a 25,000+ catalog (its own figures), though no dedicated Switzerland group, and charges $13.99 for a month up to $169.99 for 24 months after a 36-hour trial that needs no card. QueenIPTV sells the same catalog in pounds; Smartiflix is cheapest for a year at $69. For SRF, RTS and RSI themselves, licensed apps like Zattoo (from CHF 14 a month) and Teleboy (CHF 11.90 a month on its current discount) are the safe choice.
Editorial disclosure
This comparison was prepared with input from KenoaTV, which sells IPTV subscriptions, and we may have a commercial relationship with services listed here. See our affiliate disclosure and methodology. Prices and features were checked on each provider's official website on 10 October 2026. Channel and VOD counts are the providers' own claims, and plans change, so confirm current terms before you subscribe.

Swiss TV in 2026: what you already pay for
Every household in Switzerland pays the radio and television fee collected by Serafe, whether or not it owns a TV. The fee is CHF 335 a year today. After voters rejected the "200 francs are enough" initiative in March 2026 with 61.9% of the vote, the Federal Council's counter-proposal applies: the fee drops to CHF 312 on 1 January 2027 and to CHF 300 from 2029, with no application needed. That fee funds the SRG and its channels:
| Language region | Public channels | Free streaming |
|---|---|---|
| German-speaking | SRF 1, SRF zwei, SRF info | Play SRF |
| French-speaking | RTS 1, RTS 2 | Play RTS |
| Italian-speaking | RSI LA 1, RSI LA 2 | Play RSI |
| Romansh | RTR programming inside SRF and RSI slots | Play RTR |
| All regions | Swiss films and series across languages | Play Suisse |
Private Swiss channels add 3+, 4+, 5+, TV24, S1 and regional stations. Most Swiss viewers also watch German, French and Italian broadcasters, which is why a Swiss channel lineup is never just Swiss.
Licensed Swiss TV apps and their prices
The licensed market is mature. Prices below were read on each company's own page on 10 October 2026:
| Service | Price | What you get (provider's description) |
|---|---|---|
| Zattoo Premium | CHF 14 a month after 30 free days | 405 channels, 356 in HD, 7-day replay, 2 streams |
| Zattoo Ultimate | CHF 22 a month after 30 free days | 405 channels (119 Full HD), 7-day replay, ad skipping, 4 streams |
| Teleboy TV | CHF 11.90 a month (reduced from CHF 14.90, "lifetime 20% discount") | 300+ channels, 7-day replay, up to 5 devices |
| Swisscom blue TV | Promotional entry offers, multiroom option CHF 9.90 a month | TV-Box 5, Apple TV 4K or smart TV app |
| Sports add-ons | MySports CHF 29.90 a month (annual), Sky Sport CHF 29.90 a month on Zattoo | 15 extra MySports channels, or 9 extra Sky Sport channels (Zattoo's description) |
Who shows Swiss football and the Champions League?
Under the deal the Swiss Football League awarded in 2024, blue Sport (Swisscom) shows every Super League match from 2025-26 to 2029-30, and SRG SSR shows one match per round free-to-air. For the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League, SRG holds non-exclusive free-to-air rights through 2026-27 under a sub-licence with blue. MySports is sold as a separate add-on. A Swiss football fan who wants every match therefore needs blue Sport; an expat who wants the Premier League, Serie A or Ligue 1 needs something else again.
That is the benchmark. IPTV only makes sense in Switzerland if it fills gaps the Swiss apps leave, such as foreign-language channels for Portuguese, Kosovar-Albanian, ex-Yugoslav or Turkish households, at a price and quality that holds up.
What is IPTV?
IPTV (internet protocol television) sends live TV and on-demand content over your internet connection instead of cable, satellite or antenna. Zattoo, Teleboy and blue TV are all IPTV technology in this sense: licensed services that pay for the channels they carry. Third-party IPTV subscriptions work differently. The provider gives you login details (an Xtream Codes username, password and server address, or an M3U playlist URL), and you enter them in a separate player app such as IPTV Smarters Pro or TiviMate. The app shows live TV with an EPG (electronic program guide), plus movies and series on demand. The quality depends on the provider's server infrastructure, your internet speed and the source of each stream.
How we chose the best IPTV providers for Switzerland
We compared each IPTV provider on points Swiss viewers can check before paying:
- Language coverage: German, French and Italian channels, plus diaspora channels for the country's large foreign-born population.
- Free trial length: enough time to test a Super League Saturday or a Champions League night on your own connection.
- Price per month on longer plans, and whether a plan renews automatically.
- Refund terms in writing, because a money-back "Garantie" on a seller's homepage means little without written conditions.
- Device support: Samsung and LG smart TVs, Apple TV, Android TV, Fire TV and phones.
- Simultaneous connections for multi-screen households.
For context, Swiss sellers in the search results advertise 37,000+ channels and 3-month plans around CHF 45. Those are their claims, not figures we checked, and we didn't rank those sellers.
1. KenoaTV: best IPTV service for Switzerland overall
KenoaTV is an international IPTV service with a US base. Its channel list shows 25,000+ channels in 58 country and regional groups. For Swiss households the relevant groups are Germany (277), France (206), Italy (191) and Austria (25), plus Portugal (148), Albania (226), EX-YU (497), Turkey (129), Spain (177) and United Kingdom (1,365). It doesn't list a dedicated Switzerland group, so check SRF, RTS and RSI in the guide during the trial rather than assuming they're there. All counts are the provider's own snapshot.
KenoaTV pricing (single connection, checked 10 October 2026)
| Plan | Price billed once | Per month |
|---|---|---|
| 1 month | $13.99 | $13.99 |
| 3 months | $34.99 | $11.66 |
| 6 months | $59.99 | $10.00 |
| 12 months | $99.99 | $8.33 |
| 24 months | $169.99 | $7.08 |
Plans with up to five connections are on the KenoaTV pricing page. Each plan is billed once in US dollars, with no automatic renewal, so your Swiss card converts the amount at its own rate.

2. QueenIPTV: same catalog, larger UK group
QueenIPTV is closely related to KenoaTV and uses the same trial and refund structure. Its channel page lists the same European groups plus 1,765 UK channels (its own count), which suits British expats in Zug, Basel or Geneva who want BBC, ITV and Sky-style UK channels next to local TV.
QueenIPTV pricing (single connection, checked 10 October 2026)
| Plan | Price billed once |
|---|---|
| 1 month | £11.99 |
| 3 months | £24.99 |
| 6 months | £34.99 |
| 12 months | £49.99 |
| 24 months | £79.99 |

- A UK group large enough for Premier League and UK news viewing.
Best for
UK nationals in Switzerland who pay in pounds. QueenIPTV's guide for UK expats in Europe covers that angle in more depth.
Things to consider
- GBP billing can add a foreign transaction fee on a Swiss card.
- The same 50% refund cap and 7-day rule apply.
3. Smartiflix: lowest 12-month headline price
Smartiflix lists one-device plans at $14 for one month, $36 for three months, $47 for six months and $69 for 12 months on smartiflix.org, and claims 61,000+ live channels and 180,000+ VOD titles on smartiflix.net. It doesn't publish a Swiss channel list on the pages we checked.
Key features
- A 24-hour free trial (provider's claim).
- One annual payment at a low headline price.
- Plans for more than one device.
Best for
Budget viewers who mainly want films and series.
Things to consider
- The smartiflix.org FAQ says all sales are final once you subscribe; smartiflix.net describes case-by-case refunds.
- 24 hours is short for testing a full match weekend.
- smartiflix.com returned an error when we checked, so make sure you pay on an official domain.

Regional guide: Swiss viewers in the USA, Canada and Europe
Swiss abroad in the USA
Many SRG live streams on Play SRF, Play RTS and Play RSI are geo-restricted outside Switzerland, and Play Suisse needs an account, with access from abroad depending on eligibility. Swiss expats in the US can still read SRF, RTS and RSI news online and watch many on-demand clips, but live football and most films stay blocked. That gap is where an international IPTV service with German, French and Italian channels comes in. Our Germany IPTV guide covers German-language channels from the US side.
Swiss abroad in Canada
French-speaking Swiss in Quebec can find TV5MONDE on Canadian cable, which carries some RTS programmes. For RTS 1 or Swiss football live, the same geo-restrictions apply.
Across Europe and at home
Inside Switzerland, the question is less about access and more about language. Romandie households lean on French channels, so the France IPTV guide is useful; Ticino looks south, so see the Italy guide. For the wider continent, our Europe IPTV guide compares coverage country by country.
Buying guide: choosing an IPTV subscription in Switzerland
- Start with what you already have. The Serafe fee already pays for SRF, RTS and RSI, and Zattoo FREE offers 289 channels with 10 hours a month on a smart TV. Buy IPTV for gaps, not duplicates.
- Test during a live match. Use the trial on a Super League Saturday evening, when networks are busiest.
- Check each channel you need. Search the guide for the exact German, French or Italian channel, in HD.
- Count screens. One connection means one stream at a time.
- Read the refund terms. A "30-day Geld-zurück-Garantie" banner is only as good as its written conditions.
- Pay on the official website, and check that customer support answers by e-mail or chat before you pay.
How to set up IPTV on Swiss devices
- Choose the device: Samsung or LG smart TV, Apple TV, Android TV box, Fire TV Stick or Nvidia Shield.
- Install an IPTV player app such as IPTV Smarters Pro or TiviMate from the app store.
- Enter the login details from your welcome e-mail: username, password and server, or the M3U playlist URL.
- Load the EPG and add favourite channels by language.
- Test a live sports channel and a replay at peak time.
IPTV apps and device compatibility
Apple TV needs an app that supports tvOS. Android TV boxes, the Nvidia Shield and Fire TV give the widest choice of IPTV apps. Swisscom's TV-Box 5 and Zattoo's own apps only play their own services.
Internet speed and HD streaming tips
- Plan on about 10 Mbit/s for HD streaming and 25 Mbit/s for 4K on one stream, the figures most guides quote. Swiss fibre usually has room to spare.
- Use Ethernet or 5 GHz Wi-Fi.
- Restart the device and clear the app cache when streams stall.
- Drop from 4K to Full HD on busy evenings.
- Try a second player app if one keeps buffering.
Is IPTV legal in Switzerland?
The Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property (IGE/IPI) states that downloading or streaming works for private use is allowed by law, and that this also appears undisputed for illegal sources. Uploading is different: sharing works, including through file-sharing networks, is not allowed, whether or not you profit. Some IPTV apps share streams peer to peer, which can count as uploading.
That private-use rule protects viewers, not sellers. Operating or reselling an unlicensed IPTV service infringes copyright, and an unverified service can shut down without notice, take your money or misuse your payment details. Licensed IPTV providers such as Zattoo, Teleboy and blue TV pay for their rights. The Serafe fee applies to every household regardless of how you watch.
Frequently asked questions
Which is the best IPTV subscription in Switzerland?
For one guide with German, French, Italian and diaspora channels, KenoaTV is our first pick, from $13.99 a month with a 36-hour trial. For licensed Swiss channels with replay, Zattoo and Teleboy are the established choices.
What are the main TV channels in Switzerland?
SRF 1, SRF zwei and SRF info in German; RTS 1 and RTS 2 in French; RSI LA 1 and LA 2 in Italian; plus private channels such as 3+, 4+, TV24 and blue Zoom.
Is IPTV legal in Switzerland?
IPTV technology is legal. The IGE says private streaming is allowed, but uploading and running an unlicensed service are not.
Can we watch TV channels on IPTV?
Yes. IPTV delivers live channels with a guide, plus replay and on-demand films and series on many services.
How many channels are on IPTV?
It depends on the provider. Zattoo lists 405 channels, Teleboy 300+, KenoaTV 25,000+ worldwide (its own count).
What is an IPTV subscription?
A paid plan that gives you login details for live channels and VOD, used in an IPTV app on your devices.
Which IPTV service will be the best in 2026?
There's no single answer. Pick the one that carries your channels, offers a real trial and puts refund terms in writing.
What is the best free IPTV service?
Legal free options in Switzerland are the SRG Play apps and Zattoo FREE (289 channels, 10 hours a month on a smart TV). Free "premium" playlists are unlicensed.
Which is the best VPN for IPTV?
We don't recommend VPNs for getting around geo-blocks. A VPN doesn't change the licensing status of a service.
Final verdict
Swiss viewers start from a strong legal base: the Serafe fee pays for the SRG channels, and Zattoo, Teleboy and blue TV add replay and private channels for roughly CHF 12 to 22 a month. An IPTV subscription is worth it when you want German, French, Italian and diaspora channels together. In that role KenoaTV comes first here, thanks to a 36-hour trial that can be extended twice and a 12-month plan that works out at $8.33 a month. QueenIPTV fits UK expats, while Smartiflix has the lowest yearly price but treats sales as final.
